My thoughts:

You already have a blower, so switch it up and go turbo.

The Silverado is a 4x4 so the instant torque from the blower makes sense here. And it's already installed.

The turbo on the Tahoe makes more sense because it's your daily so you can hear them cool noises err'day and the slight bit of lag might help not blow the tires off so easily since it only has two wheels pushing it.

...Never heard of Torqstorm. Googling...

I agree the silverado needs to torque to blow the 35s off in 3rd from a stop. It will be daily driven as much as the Tahoe once it's back to full operational status. I'm looking around at cams now and refuse anything that will ruin driveability. The 224/228 is so good in the Tahoe.

I do agree turbo for 2wd street truck and cool noises while possibly maintaining reasonable gas mileage where the silverado gets 10mpg downhill with a tail wind and the engine off.

Torqstorms are basically a more affordable and better setup than a base procharger kit. Max HP is around 700hp but that's more than enough. I like that it's a independent 8 rib belt drive that doesn't interact with the accessory serpentine belt at all. I spent alot of money in an innovators west kit to go 8rib with my silverado and the torqstorm kit includes it. The IAT from the head unit on full tilt is very low with an average sized air to air intercooler too.

It will really all depend on what shows up for sale used. I like buying used stuff for some dumb reason. Also I might just leave the Tahoe as is and build a ratty muscle car with a high rpm ls with a turbo and a Haltech elite 2500 ecu. I really like the haltechs.

Just got back from exploring their site and following. I'm sure it's the "revised" Powerdyne. Interesting stuff but I'd still be tempted to go with a cheap turbo kit like On3 and upgrade the turbo later. Speaking of Powerdyne, they had a competitor back in the day: Wynjammer. I have a 'Jammer in my attic leftover from my S10 days. It looks like the cold side of a turbo that's driven by a cog drive. It made 6psi on a 4.3 and is capable of 10psi (Probably larger cog gear). With that 10psi setup, I'd estimate it to put 5-6psi on a 5.3. By my calculations, the FlexFuel system should be able to support this. You got me thinking again...

Hahaha get it out and boost! I spoke to one of torqstorms owners on the phone for about a half hour one day and he really made me want to try one especially for the lifetime warranty and low cost. I would never want to run a budget turbo with a tubular manifold because I see them crack to much on other motors. Cast stainless log it is for me. Turbo selection wouldn't be that big of a deal to start like you said upgrade later.

All this boost talk makes me want my 370 back from the machine shop! :bawl:

Flopro 2505 came in, hopefully get it put in tomorrow.

Anyone run a badlands Apex 12k from harbor freight? I just picked one up for my car hauler and fabbed up a cool little detachable winch mount. I'll keep it in my garage until I need it then slide it in and lock it with a pin. Nice thing is I can always hook it to the Tahoe to pull out my neighbors when they get stuck down our sandy road and all other cool winch stuff.

Trailer should be done and in use next week!

Think I heard a chirp :waytogo:

Oh yeah! 1-2 chirps hard if I no lift shift but G80s don't like that. It really does amaze me how well the SUV 5 link setups work. My silverado even with the stock 4.8 would usually spin in first and definitely chirp or spin on the 1-2 shift.

It's no rocket ship but it is fun.
