I forgot right now It has factory spindles But i have a set of drop spindles on the shelf. Not sure how much that would effect shock length and I do NOT want to go any lower. I guess I have more stuff to research.

Looks like ride height is right at 14" from the top stud to the bottom eye bolt. The eye bolt brackets add 1" at the top and probably around .5" at the bottom but I also have a set of the stud top adapters which eliminate that 1" at the top if need be. I also have a set of 8" 1,000lb springs but I have no idea what size spring is needed that will require some more research.

Gonna PM you about making a deal.

Also I just measure exhaust area to play with and I have right at 18" from drive shaft to frame and can fit a muffler with a case that is 24" long, lastly from body to bottom of frame rail is 9". I looked on magnaflows website and they have a 7x7x24" round, chambered but straight through muffler that is under $100 and 2 should fit nicely without hanging below the frame.

i just wrote you a novel.... to not clutter this well organized thread up

depends on if the shock gets you any drop at all, you can preload the shock to bring it back up if you want to

Back to the more important exhaust while me and "might as well keep upgrading Randy" sort out coilover stuff.

So current thoughts and I'd like to order something by tomorrow morning so it shows up this week.
1: Dual Magnaflow #13742 7" round 24" case chambered but straight though mufflers.
2: Dual Magnaflow #12279 5x8x24" straight through
3: Dual AP https://www.amazon.com/AP-Exhaust-Products-XS2579-Muffler/dp/B004A5OBVA But they say 11.5" tall so thats too far for me.

Who thinks what will be quieter?

Those AP brand are straight through design with sound absorption packing correct? Basically knockoff magnaflows?

Yaaaaas. Best I can tell, the only difference is no "MF" embossed on the body and the overall width and height is a little different (probably for copyright purposes). The length is the same, though. Oh, and 1/2 to 1/3 the price. Hell, their part numbers are almost identical. They just omitted a number.

My thoughts are, since you're only passing half as much sound through each muffler as I and most anyone else is, you can get away with about half as much muffler on each circuit. Since you have to stand yours up vertically, you have to pay extra attention to the width. Shop here for some mufflers then search Amazon or ebay for the part numbers: https://issuu.com/apexhaust/docs/xlerator_performance_exhaust_7a048979fdf974

I was thinking the opposite of your theory. I was guessing that since I have twice the area for the sound and air to escape from that I would need either the same amount of mufflers as someone with a single exhaust or possibly more because it would be like running a 4cylinder on a single 3" which usually shrieks. I like those AP mufflers they just don't have anything that will use all my provided space. I remeasured last night for about the 11hundreth time and I think I can actually squeeze 30" off muffler case length. I will have to chop the inlet and outlet down to almost nothing and welding it will suck but I'm gonna try doing it myself. My neighbor has a 4 post lift so I'll haul my little Hobart over there Friday and give it a shot. I am going to call Magnaflow today and ask about the 7x7x30" round 3 chambered/straight-through muffler. That gives me the most possible area of muffling, but I'm confused as to why it says straight through but also 3 chambered. I found 1 picture from amazon that shows that it is indeed straight through but I want to know why they list it as chambered because I think a key to cutting resonance is having some chambers for the sound waves to reflect off of. Also still probably going to cut the unknown cats out because I'm not sure if they are real cats or just shells to fake out the Texas emissions losers, either way, they are half the size of the vibrant ultra flows which I will replace them with.

Also, another reason I'm a little skeptical of the AP mufflers is I can't seem to find anywhere that shows exactly what they are packed with, and this truck will likely see boost of some flavor in the next year or two. I've had good luck with the magnaflows and vibrant not blowing/burning the packing out. Not sure how the APs would fare under high EGTs.

I can't answer about the chambered discrepancy. Unless there's an area in it that doesn't have packing behind the perforated core to let sound bounce around in there?

I've never given the packing of the AP a thought. I just did a little digging and found a review on Summit where a buyer said it was fiberglass. I did a one-year comparison video for the 18" and couldn't tell a difference. But, that's with the chilly ~500-degree exhaust from an NA 5.3.
