So 2.5-3 hours one way, let me ponder this a few days and look at my schedule. Could probably do a Friday and leave early in the AM or really whatever works for you.
I've been helping a friend put his house back together over by tampa...I'll prob head over there in the next couple weeks and atleast meet closer?

Ac wise...I'm thinking the (new) orifice tube might be bad. Cabin ac used to get very cold, seems like the blend door works fine. Don't really feel like waiting a week for replacement so I may try and clean up the old one, replace the orings,

There’s not much to those office tubes, just some mesh and a few orings rings IIRC. What are the pressures doing?

If you can wait till your in Tampa that would be awesome, but if you really need it gone soon just let me know. It’s close enough I can shoot down one evening. You throwing it in the back or trailering it when you move it? Or real man status and putting it in the roof rack?

the orifice tube that was in it cooled awesome cept it had some metal on it so i just replaced it. now its icing up the line to the evaporator. blowing hot air out the vents. i blew out the evaporator when i had it apart so i know its not obstructed. so what im figgering is whatever it is letting through the orifice is expanding before it ever reaches the evaporator (icing the line),i started with about 16oz and ran it till about 30oz worth in the thing before i gave up and chiller was working fine highside pressure 160-180. chiller actually got worse the more i put in it so i know i was way over on the charge. found the "right" orifice tube local so i grabbed it this morning also along with some more 134a

yea its just sitting here, i'll let you know when i figure out a good weekend. will be friday night/sat morning deal probably. i dont have a trailer i was thinking just throwing it on one of those hitch mounted racks and strapping it down

Yeah sounds like orifice tube to me, it’s annoying how expensive even the cheapest cans of r134 have gotten. I’m at $9 a can at Walmart, used to be $3.99 at HF.

Cool that works, I’m off fridays and Saturday’s. I’ve had them in the truck before but they easy to get in and then it smells like doodoo butter for a few days.

well im thinking maybe my first orifice tube was broke thats why it worked so well :emotions122:
i ordered the largest fixed size orifice tube (.072) same as the stock one. cant use stock one cause it uses a larger body. i got it charged up if i leave the fan on 1/2 speed it blows cool enough, but full speed its starved for freon

That’s super annoying I hope it’s fixed after that. Just so you know .072 is totally normal and not too small.
