Hello All,

I have not been on this forum for god knows how long, there just seems never enough time for anything anymore. :)

I want to say I have a Magnaflow Exhaust on my truck, but am not entirely sure, as the truck came installed with it and I have not checked underneath just yet. It may also be a Flowmaster???

Never the less, at a certain RPM, while speeding up or going up an incline while cruising on the freeway and the truck downshifts, I get a pretty bad droning noise and the kids in the back complain that it is just too loud for them and they do not like very much riding back there. Well, if I can hear it in the front, I am sure it is pretty bad in the back.

WHAT Exhausts are you guys using in order to still get the sound on the outside, but not to get this terrible noise on the inside?
I want to see if I can have a new one put on this weekend, depending on your recommendations.

Many thanks in advance and HAPPY FRIDAY!

Welcome back man. I saw your posts in my build thread the other day funny enough before I started color matching everything.

Black Widow mufflers have been getting some good reviews. As well as Carven.

I'm still running a Flowmaster 50 series and posted some clips in my build thread here.

and on page 71 too.

Here is the Black Widow thread you might want to review with some good videos of recent installs.

Welcome back man! Lol. I love your truck! Looks fantastic and that color! Lol. I have a client with an 02 xl Denali. His has the magnaflow muffler, and it's super drony. Like all the time. Have driven it many times helping him buying used cars and when he moved down to la county last year. Those long rides gave me head aches from all the noise. It didn't matter if I was cruising or stepping on it, it was just loud and annoying. So you might have a magnaflow. I've heard that's a typical characteristic of them. I will be doing exhaust upgrades in the spring as well, and was hinging to do the flow master 50, but is till haven't decided yet. Lol

Great seeing you back on, thought about you about a couple weeks ago and wondered where you were! By the way, my corsa sport has no drone what so ever, highly recommend!

Stock. Any exhaust you can hear will be louder under acceleration, and noticeable inside the cab. If you dont like it go back to a quiet muffler. Here's a tip: They dont make a muffler you can hear when you want and not when you don't. Physics dont work that way!

Thanks, exactly my thoughts.
Went to the muffler shop this weekend and they basically recommended the same thing, so this is what I most likely will be doing.

An alternative is, something quiet at cruise and idle and only really hear under acceleration. The ****** aerochamber is sorta like that. It has a non-aggressive deep mellow idle, decent part throttle, pretty loud WOT, and really mellow cruise on the highway and no drone. If you have manifolds and cats it will be fairly quiet overall. If you have long tube headers and no cats like mine its broderline obnoxious when on throttle but is very comfortable on long cruises.
