I have started research on parts I should likely add and/or replace before I drop a diesel into my truck. Number one is an uplift pump. I've joined a couple diesel groups and begun asking questions.

Here are some more pictures of the donor truck. Turns out it was a Farnken truck before I ever bought it. It was the second owner -- the son of the first owner that totalled it. But it had previously been rolled. So the cab is from a 2002 Sierra.... The fatal damage (to the truck; no blood inside the cab!) came from sideswiping a FedEx truck.

Doesn't appear to be 1 straight body panel on that truck!

Yay me! More setbacks: I've got a bad rocker panel on the driver's side of my truck. I have a video of it, but can't figure out how to share it here.
Post to YouTube, and then share the link here. There’s also a file upload to the site, but I much prefer just posting on YT, and linking here..

I will consider that. I don't have a YouTube channel, and have been reticent to post anything there.

Added it to the original post.

Tried to install a 2014+, step bumper on this weekend; got the old one off, can't get the new one on. Looks like I am going to have to swap the brackets. This is likely due to me having a 2500 (thicker frame at the rear) and the 2014+ bumper likely came from a 1500.

On the plus side, the spare tire looks good, and the spare tire holder isn't frozen in place. In fact, it looks to only be a few years old!
