Got my 2007 back from the builder last week! Got it inspected, registered, and am waiting on the registration paperwork in the mail. Some photos for you:
This is one of the 4, 20" rims I bought for it, but I needed to get new hub covers. The wheels are fuel wheels, but getting Fuel wheel caps cost something like $50 EACH, I needed at least 2, and I wanted a full, matching set.
One of the "fan blades" is damaged, above. And the screws holding all the "fan blades" on are all rusty.
Thinking there is likely only one factory making these caps and each brand then labels them for their brand, I scoured Amazon for options. Found these for $20 each; bought 4 of them. As seen below, they fit exactly, with one caveat: The bolds used to hold them down on the wheels were too thick... Having just purchased some M6 bolts for a Honda Radiator, I tested to see if they would work; they were an EXACT fit!!! Since I was already using the existing bolts -- and I didn't want a phillips head, I went back to Amazon and ordered M6 bolts -- with a twist.
The above picture was to give an idea of size.
These wheels already have lug locks on them. I decided to go one step more secure. I hadded secure torx bolts to the mix. Mind you, you can get a bit from any place that sells tools, but making things take just a little bit longer for would be thieves was what I had in mind.
You can see the secure torx bolt head between the 12 and 3 o'clock positions in the above picture.
The only thing left to do with the wheels is replace the screws holding the "fan blades" on, and one of the "fan blades" itself. I have a friend with a machine shop who has volunteered to help me with fabricated the replacement "fan blade". Fuel Wheels no longer carries this model, and so didn't have any I could buy as replacements. My friend also offered me the opportunity to change the centers of these caps so I could have my own, custom design. We'll see if I have enough gumption to go there.
ANECDOTALLY: When I first picked it up, I tested things. Going down the highway at about 75, I fish-tailed a tiny bit due to a super heavy foot... Since I was testing and WAY paying attention, it was only scary for about 3 seconds. About 30 minutes later, I smoked some tire on a city street, around 25-35 miles per hour.
Over all, truck looks good, drives good, and I am very happy with it. It does have some work left to do.
