Regulator is in the tank. But I connected a fuel gauge to the rail and it never cuts out. Even after it died I have 54 psi at the rail

Next time it dies, open the fuel cap, count to five, put it back on, and see if it starts. This doesnt mean the regulator is working, but if the fuel tank is over pressurizing, then the return may not be able to return to the tank from tank pressure.

If you think the ECM might be getting heat soaked and causing the issue, get a can of computer air, remove the plastic cover on the ECM, turn the can upside-down and spray the ECM case in an attempt to cool it down.

I dont think it's the ecm at this point. I replaced it this morning and got the same result

I don't know if this applies to your situation or not.

Maybe swap the coil packs out and see if that helps anything, if you are having consistent misfires listed on your scanner.
