So this past weekend I replaced the Auto ride air shocks all around on my Tahoe with Bilstein HDs. Zero issues installing these. Where I did fail was removing the stock rear coil springs to replace them with the Bilstein springs. Here is what I did...jacked Tahoe rear up by center of rear axle. Placed jack stands under frame on sides just in front of bolt to rear section. Then I had rear shock undone and the sway bar link undone. Lowered the the axle until jack was completely down and springs were still solid. I am guessing I need to jack up the rear a bit higher to allow the rear to drop lower or am I missing something? It was getting dark so out of frustration I said another time and kept stock springs in and bolt everything back up. So is that all I need to do is get the rear end up higher? I didn't measure but I am guessing when I put tires back on the tires were about 3 inches of the ground.

Thanks. That is what I thought. Checked Jack last night too and Max lift is only 15 inches. Guessing that's why I wasn't high enough.
