My 4L60 took a shit on me a couple weeks ago, 145k on the clock. Got a rebuilt 4L60 with Hardened Sunshell, 5 planetary, Vette Servo, shift kit all put in for $1400. 24 hr turnaround!!

I'm am absolutely in love my my rig again. She passes with minimal effort and no slip, downshifts into the right gear depending on how hard I mash the pedal. Also got a tiny bit of scratch the other day, I couldn't believe it.

Nice! Who/where did you have it done? I'm looking to do the same on mine and that's within my price range.

Yep, keep it simple. A properly built 60 will give you years of trouble free service. Add in a nice Circle D converter and it will feel like a whole new truck.

yeah, i'm going to need some advice from you regarding changing the yoke on my driveshaft for a mint 4l85 I have sitting in my garage. yeah my built up 4l65 is no longer playing nice in the sandbox with my cammed 6ltr lol.. I was running a circle d converter and it just pushed thru 3rd gear one day..on to bigger and better.

question i have is my current yoke has a balancer built into it and if i replace the yoke i lose this balancer. I'm trying to figure out what yoke to use and if my driveshaft will need to be balanced. doesn't seem like a direct swap. i've narrowed it down to this http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/p12...lip_yoke_1350_series_32_spline_6.625_inc.html possibly, but still am unclear about ujoints and size..

Thats a vibration dampner I believe. I just did this for a guy in the fbody world and we swapped a 4l80e yoke out of a van onto his DS with no issues. It did not have the ring on it either. He said it was fine driving it.

Yeah I just noticed my driveshaft has balance weights on it so I should be OK just swapping the yoke. I'm going to get the short Strange th400 yoke with the 447 u joints and hope it's the right length. I won't know until the trans is in the truck since I can't seem to find anyone who has done this in a tahoe.
