New Here and I've spent the last hour trying to search for what I need with no luck. My 2005 Yukon Denali has a Transfer case issue and the Stealership diagnosed it to be the transfer case chain slipping on the sprockets. They stated a few of the teeth on the sprockets have broken off and the chain is now slipping. Seems plausible from where the load clicking/grinding is coming from and how it progressively got worse to were I can't even drive it now.

Anyways what I'm looking for is recommendations on a Master rebuild kit for my Transfer Case. Not sure the model of my Transfer Case until I rip it out so if anyone knows that that would be helpful as well. I plan on doing the work myself and I've found Kits in the past for around $300 but for what ever reason I can't locate them know. Also looking for a reputable brand so I don't have issues in the future.

I'm also looking for some help/recommendations on a good conversion shock/strut kit to replace the stupid air ride shocks installed know. I think one of my rear shocks are toast causing the air compressor to run constantly. I want to by pass that and put some good shocks/struts in. Can I do this conversion swap or does it have to be Air Shocks and compressor set up?

Thanks in advance

I know this is an old post but for those that need to know ...you should have the NR3 code on build sheet so google 412-00581 and that is an awd transfer case. use same number on e-bay and it will lead to used or rebuilt transfer cases and parts. Its a little awkward getting out but not too bad. Weighs about 75 lbs. If you did this yourself, let us (at the forum) know how you did, problems, etc.

NR3 is indeed an AWD transfer case. Built by Borg Warner. There should be a circle metal tag on the drivers side rear of the transfer case and it will show the exact model an maker of the case. These cases are not rocket science and anyone that can do brake jobs, been in an engine, can remove and replace a transmission can handle the rebuild of the AWD T-case or the even easier 4WD New Process T-case. Not really a whole lot to them and the rebuild kits are easy to get. Some may find it less daunting to just buy a rebuilt unit off ebay for around a grand. Removal and replacement of the transfer case is a day job with air tools and maybe even a helper during the lift down/up of the case. Just dont forget that if the vehicle is on any surface other than level that once the driveshafts are removed the vehicle is essentially in neutral and will roll on its own! Block the tires!
