2005 Yukon Denali overheating

I took my Yukon to have oil changed we left got down the road it overheated I stop and look the store had broke the heater hose assymble I called then they came out went got a new assymble put it on it still overheated they said it must have messed up thermostat so they put a new one on it still over heating. The coolant resivor never went down past the full mark. Any help would be appreciated ty.

Sounds like you may have air in the system

I agree with Danny. Needs to be bled. You can probably hear the heater core gurgle. I would take the cap of the res and fill her up. Start the truck and let it run with the heat inside on full blast. Once hot air starts blowing out of the vents you know the thermostat is open and let it run for another 10-15 minutes.

OR run by an auto store and pick up one of these. They're very handy to have. Hook it to the resivour and fill it up. Start the truck turn on the heat and let it runnin until thermostat opens up and all the air has burped from the system. With this the contents in the funnel are higher up and will speed up the process thanks to gravity.

x3 on the burping, typically when the coolant system is opened air pockets can form. A simple burp should help clear that problem up.
