2005 Yukon Denali xl no crank loud thump

Got a call from the shop. Engine has internal issues and damaged a the new starter. I think it’s time to throw in the towel. Looked up replacement engines and they cost more than I want to spend on this car. Rocker panels need replacement because of rust. I might get a new job which will leave me very little time to wrench on project cars. Looked up junk car buyer near me and was offered almost $800. I think it’s time to move on from GM. If it hydro-locked, like I think it did, it likely bent a rod as well. Could have damaged a wrist pin too. Bet the flex plate is cracked. Means it had at least head gasket problems throwing coolant in the cylinder. Seen a few of these.
