Nope, nothing wrong with the engine itself at all. Just continue getting regular oil changes and check it every so often and you'll be fine.
Now that's a relief.

I was burning at least a quart every 4500-5k miles. GM claims this is still in the "normal" range. WTF? I did some research online and found out about the PCV valve issue on the 99-02 trucks, so I bought a new style valve from the dealer for 7 bucks. Its a fixed orifice style, the old style has a moving valve in it. If you shake it you can hear it rattle. ALL the PCV valves I saw at the parts store were the rattle style. Anyways, the fixed orifice valve solved my oil consumption issues. Now I go 10k miles (with Amsoil) and barely use a half a quart.
I would double check you PCV valve, if its the rattle style replace it with the fixed orifice style from a GM dealer. Just pop if off and shake it. If it rattles, then replace it.
Didn't know there was a different PCV valve you could get, I'm gonna have to go to the stealership tomorrow and see what they can provide for me! Thanks Scotty!!
Just got back from the stealership and they show a PCV valve that also includes a built on hose as apart of the PCV valve, was yours like that Scotty? Also figures, they are out of stock on them and they want $16.11 for theirs!!
