Hello All and Happy Friday.

Anyone have any input in regards to the following Performance Upgrades:

- Air Intake Kit (I am thinking K&N or AFE).
- Exhaust (I am thinking FlowMaster).

I am interested to find out if these two itmes would do the following:

- SERIOUSLY improve the performance of my vehicle. If yes, HOW? What will I notice different compared to stock?
- Improve the gas mileage on the vehicle?

Many thanks in advance.

Answer to that question, is Gears, converter, cam, Vette servo and OD servo, possibly a shift kit (depending how hard you like your shifts +tune.
Those mods will do more for your performance than anything you can do with exhaust and intake. However, you WILL want to complete the "package" by doing intake and exhaust, this is Longtube headers back..

With those mods you will see and feel a Dramatic improvement in your ride..

BTW this is the standard cookie cutter mod list that absolutly EVERYONE does. thisinfo is splattered across this forum, you will have no problems finding out detailed information about everything listed above..

Thanks, .................... maybe I need to ask the question in a different way, as I am not planning on doing all the mods you listed above:

- What will an exhaust as well as Air Intake Mod. do? Will it increase performance and gas mielage?
- What does everyone recommend in regards to the intake (K&N or AFE or????) and exhaust (Is the Flowmaster the way to go?).

Thanks again.

Exhaust is just gonna give you a cool sound unless you get a performance exhaust. A performance exhaust might give you a few hp but probably not very noticeable unless you do multiple mods as ezdaar suggested. CAI might give you a little better performance as far as throttle response. They're not going to give you +12 hp as advertised. All the CAIs do the same thing. The main difference is K&N, airraid, etc have open filters and Volant, SPL have enclosed filters as to keep the heat out which is a main objective of a CAI. As far as mufflers go, that's usually a personal preference and topic of many arguments but I've heard good things about the Magnaflow which is what I'm going with soon.

Search around in the performance section and I think you'll find everything you want to know about.

Don't expend much HP or MPGs out of just an exhaust and intake. Remember, your engine doesn't know what to do with all the extra airflow, until the computer is told how to manage it.

I personally, would stay away from any chambered exhaust- poor pressure.
