every once in a while my truck will not crank/start up. it'll give a single click and do nothing. after several times, it will then start with no problem. carmax techs (warranty program) says battery, starter and alternator test out fine.

video of the above.

thanks for any input.

My same year YXLD did the same thing last week. It's the starter. It'll click like the battery is dead. But then a another try and it starts up fine. The starter solenoid will get stuck where it's not engaging. But then it'll click into place and start up. I replaced my starter a year ago from the auto parts store NAPA auto parts and their brand of starters is known to go bad after about a year or so. I ended up ordering a new one online that's an acdelco brand. I also replaced my starter relay under the hood fuse panel. No more issues now.

Thanks for the follow up... Reinforces my belief it is the starter and not the charging or electrical system. I doubt I can get Carmax to replace the relay too, but I'll ask to ensure that all things starter related are resolved. -louie

The relay itself was only a few bucks from the parts store. But worth asking if they will replace it! From, the video I see all your lights and such came on with the attempt to start. Mine did as well which shows battery is functioning properly. We load tested my battery and checked to ensure the battery was taking a charge from the alternator. If you haven't already I'd check it out just to be on the safe side.
