Welcome to the forum. Do you have any dash lights on? I ask because if you have any codes relating to the fueling system, you can start your search there. As others have said, look for gas leaks. Aside from that, there is a purge valve in the engine compartment. If it is stuck open, I believe it could contribute what you are observing.
And I suggest this: Get on this quickly, and do not drive it until you figure it out. I had a car leak gas on my exhaust headers and it set the car on fire. My *first* car.
