2007 GMC Yukon Burning oil?

Hi,
My 2007 "lemon" (see other threads) is now burning too much oil...

I just had the transmission replaced with 72,*** miles..
The day we diagnosed that I got a low engine oil light, that I thought was related to the transmission.
However the low engine oil warning came up again.
I saw a long post/bulletin about it. I would like to resolve this issue because I have NEVER had a car that I have to add oil to it and most certainly don't want to add oil to a car with 76,*** miles on it.
Do I need to change the PCV now?
I keep calling my dealership and they tell me that there is "no issue" even though I don't find this acceptable.
Please help.

oil consumption is a big issue with the newer 5.3's. there is an oil consumption test that needs to be started by your dealer to determine if it is burning more than the spec allows (1 quart per 2k miles). more than likely you will need new pistons and rings. The oil rings seize up on the DOD cylinders and allow too much oil into the combustion chamber. the valve seals could also be leaking as well.

if your dealer is not willing to address the issue then its time to find a new one that will.
