Anyone ever get the check suspension on the DIC?

I got this message about a year ago and thought of the worst possible scenario, but after reading a few forums and reading factory manuals it was as simple as replacing the 403.00 dollar air compressor for the two rear air shocks.

I went one further and if you have an air ride suspension, there is an air compressor right behind your left rear wheel. The air compressor went bad due to moisture. The air compressor is almost a closed component except for the bronze sinter filter caps. Also, the inlet for the air compressor is tied to your gas tube or near it.

When I replaced my air compressor I added a air water filter, 15.00 Harbor Freigt buy, inline with the inlet and placed the inlet into the back of the truck by drilling a hole underneath the cargo deck to where the hole was in between the panels so you can not see it.

I used a rubber grommet to help seal the hole with the tube.

Now the air compressor has good clean air from the inlet as well as the air being filtered.

They use the same air compressor for the Cadillacs, but they are up front.

After doing the research, I found this air compressor air suspension is 20 year old technology on the new vechicles WTF. The same sheeet they used in 1986 is used on our new vehicles.

When I opened my air compressor motor and pump during the diagnosis stage, I found the electrical brushes are mounted on a circuit board. The brush dust short circuits the board and the mositure escalates it.

So, LTZ owners, look forward to it and don't take it to the dealer. You can do this yourself. They will charge at least 600.00. They might even convince you it is a suspension control module that needs to be replaced and etc.

Did you replace the compressor yourself? If so, was it difficult? I need to replace mine, and I am curious as to the difficulty of the job and how much of my day I should plan to spend doing it. Thanks for the input.
