New to the forum. After owning a 99 Tahoe for virtually 10 problem free years, I made the leap into a 2007 Yukon. The Yukon was purchased from a GM dealer, with approx 20,000kms of power train warranty plus the "optimum warranty" from the dealer. Within the first 3000kms of ownership, I required a new intermediate steering column, a 4x4 sensor, a 4x4 rebuild, molding re-attachment, re-attachment of the rear defrost cable....and currently tracking down 2 more window moulding which have broken or become unattached. Considering the quality of my Tahoe which really never required more than basic maintenance, and 2 new door handles (with 338000kms on it) I am quite disappointed with this vehicle, and the "optimum warranty" is a joke!! The intermediate steering column issue, I discovered 3 days after buying the vehicle.....which the service guy at the dealership should have noticed when he performed the safety. Never again. BTW, the Tahoe was a used vehicle as well.
