I recently purchased a 2007 Denali with approximately 37k miles on it. Soon after I purchased a few things popped up that peaked my interest.

1.) On start-up I hear a sound as though something is moving on the driver's side towards the back. At first I thought it had something to do with the power seat on the driver's side but it seems too loud for that. With that being said, I have no idea what exactly it is. Has anyone else heard something similar within a few seconds of start-up? If so, what is it?

2.) The weather where I am is very cold and there was problems with the automatic gate opening system. It has since opened and closed without issue since; however the service rear assist message has now appeared on the dash. I assumed it was because I had the interior detailed over a month ago but the message persists. The rear assist does not work at all at this point. Either way, I have a warranty and will take it in this week. Curious if this is a common message for others and an expensive prospect without warranty.

Otherwise, this is a fantastic ride and the new jewel in my garage.

Thanks.
:)

1. Is it the air ride compressor, when i first got my denali in october i heard it and i had no idea what it was at first until i thought about the air ride beign aired up.

2. This could be that it is really cold and your actuator that opens the hatch has just gone bad. Unforunately dont know too much about it, so it may be best to take a trip to the dealer.

I hear the same noise from my air ride compressor, quite worrisome until you figure out what it is.
Let us know what you find out about the liftgate issue.

Well I feel both stupid and relieved at the same time. I am sure the sound is indeed the air ride compressor....what exactly does it do?

As for the rear life gate we had a quick warm spell and now it works without a problem. The rear parking assist service light is on and has been so since I first purchased it. I'm going to take it into the dealer while I have the warranty still in place but I have heard that there are numerous problems with this feature.

Thanks for your feedback.
