I have a 2007 Yukon SLT 4X4 and im curious to know; if I can do away with the stock air suspension system and go with regular shocks and if so is there a way to turn off the warning light on the dash for the suspension monitoring system?

Thank you in advance

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

Yes, you can, but why? I've had both the OEM and a passive aftermarket system, and IMO, the OEM suspension if far superior. In full transparency, I will note that some members of this Forum prefer a passive aftermarket suspension.

If cost is your concern, look at rockauto.com and GMPartsDirect.com, as their OEM parts prices are significantly below dealer prices, and the OEM shocks I believe are warranted for life.

Rock auto will sometimes have a description on the kit that replaces the stocks, at least in my case it did. I bout a kit to delete Nivomat

GMPartsGiant.com

GMPartsDirect.com

These three are my go to for looking up parts.

You also want the codes from your RPO sheet, the Z55 and G69 and 6XX and 7XX have to do with your suspension type and front struts.

If you were going to convert to a dumb suspension, you would look at parts for the ZW7 suspension without G65.

In 2007 it was still possible to get a truck configured with Nivomat self-leveling shocks (G65) like the previous generation. Nivomats are not air, but rather hydraulic self-leveling shocks. They were paired with softer springs as part of the ZW7/G65 suspension package.

From 2008 the ZW7 used HD springs and conventional shocks.

The Z55/G69 combination uses air shocks and a compressor out back and smart struts up front.

As @swathdiver stated above, your specific active shock will be determined by the RPO codes on the sticker inside your glove compartment. First, confirm that you have the Z55 RPO code. (If not, post a photo of your RPO code sticker, so that we can have a look at it.) If you do, then you need to match up the 6XX and 7XX secondary RPO codes to the shocks listed on the parts web site. Match them up, and you have identified the correct shock.
