Hi,
I own 4 Tahoe LTZ's 2007 2wd, 2008 4wd, another 2008 4wd, and 2013 4wd. I found a great deal on a 2014 tahoe LT but it is 2wd. Does anyone know what would be involved in taking out the 4wd parts from the 2008 and putting then in the 2014? and also making it an LTZ? what about computers and wiring harnesses? ecm? bcm? My 2008 is worn out. i cant afford $35000 for a 4wd 2014. I can pretty much do anything myself, i just need to know if its possible.
Thanks in advance for your knowledge.

i dont see how buying another vehicle and moving everything over to it is easier than just fixing the old vehicle but thats for your to decide.

the biggest drawback is if 2008 has a 4l60 transmission/transfer case , 2014 will have 6l80 2wd transmission, youd have to swap the transmission for a 4wd 6l80 or completely tear it apart to change output shaft, or swap the entire 4l60/xfer which would be a deal breaker for me controlling the engagement of 4wd will all have to be wired in, or completely replace the wiring harness, AWD would be easier as its all passive but probably not as capable if youre that worried about having 4wd
everything should bolt in place, may have to get a different crossmember or something from the appropriate truck, not sure it the mounts for the front differential are on the 2wd frame, seems like they would be just not sure. everything missing in between would just have to be grabbed from the correct donor truck youre trying to build

Hi, and thanks for the info. My car has got some play in the front end. i replaced everything except the rack and pinion, and the coupling, and LCA bushings. Of course the paint is not great, but everything else still looks and works perfect. If i could get it to ride like new, i would keep it i guess. (260000 miles) Maybe if i replace all the rear bushings, and front lower control arm bushings, it would get the smooth ride back? And the replace the rack would get my tight steering back?
