I just purchased a 2008 Escalade and I don't know if the third stoplight is supposed to have a directional signal function or just the center third as a stoplight? While I was hooking up a trailer brake controller, I found that the high mounted stoplight wire output wire was always hot with the key in the on position but the center light worked normally when applying the brake. Replacing the s/l switch cured the brake controller circuit but didn't change the third s/l. If this is the normal operation, I'll just let it be. Other than that, the car is very well maintained (dealer over selling service) with only 81,000 miles on it. I intend to use it as a back up tow vehicle in case my 2007 Yukon With 177,000+ miles on decides to take a dump. I don't want the headaches that come with the newer models with cylinder deactivation!
