I live in Florida where the heat is so unbearable. My paint on my 08 Yukon Denali has started to fade on the roof and on top of both front fenders. Haven't decided to try to paint it myself or pay someone else to do it. Its been a long time sense I painted any car or truck, so I'm alittle rusty and o top of that I never painted just certain spots I painted the whole car. Just wanted some other opinions on if I should try to paint the areas that need it or just paint the whole truck. I'm sticking to the same black color. I don't have alot of money to pay someone thats why I'm thinking of doing it myself and just rent out a paint booth. id like to hear some of you'll professional opinions. I have attached some of the bad spots

In my experience once the clearcoat starts peeling there’s nothing short of a total repaint IF appearance is a priority.

OTOH if functional protection from rust is good enough, you can do partial paint on the problem areas. I’ve touched up some with rattle cans that looked okay from 10 feet. But that’s not as easy with black.

thanks for the heads up not to worried about the look anything would be better then what it looks like now. I live within 15 miles of the beach, and worried about the rust.

I was reading this article about these scientists that have created a new white paint that is suppose to cool down houses. it was stating that if they painted the roof of the house it would cool down the house almost as much as an air condition would. I understand that white paint already repeals heat already, but it had to do with the chemicals in the paint itself that repeals the heat. I believe I read somewhere a phosphate chemical or something like that. when I went to purchase the yukon they had 2 a black one and white one. both were Denalis. same exact price, but someone was already doing paperwork on the white one so I ended up with the black one, thats my luck.
