so if i took seats out prlly drop 300lbs, running boards and roof rack, another 60lbs. so if they weigh about 5650lbs, i can prlly get to 5300lbs and the edge is suppose to add 40 hp and pounds of tq. you dont think that would take it down a sec? thanks

ive seen youtube videos of a guy running a 13.8 with the edge cts and intake, withthe seats in. his lowest 0 to 60 was 5.4 seconds at 20 degrees.

You might as well cut that 40 hp at least in half if not more. The Edge is not going to give 40 extra hp as advertised. Also, it takes far more than dropping 300 lbs and adding 40 hp to cut a second off your 1/4 mile time. That's actually a pretty considerable improvement.

What he said.

A real tune isn't 40 HP, more like 30 HP, and an Edge programmer is probably half that. Your seats do not weigh 300 lbs. Maybe if you took out all but the driver's seat, plus running boards, roof rack, and don't forget your spare you might be getting close to that. You wanna go fast in something that heavy, put a blower on it and be done with it.

PS: I call BS on that youtube.

ya. there are so many different posts and numbers. wish i could cut the second off, without huge investment. just wondering what people are running with some mods. i love the size of the yukon, but i want something a little faster. lol. if u would put a blower on it i buy a range rover. but i wanna buy a year or two old vehicle bacause the depreciation on new cars is terrible. last two new cars i bought worth 20 gs less in 2 years. thanks to all

If you think that's bad, you would gag at the loss on my E55. Weekend hot rod with almost no miles went from 100K to less than 50K in 3 years. Now at 6 years old, it's worth maybe 35K even with 20K into it. Forget Range Rovers. I had a supercharged 2006 that was the biggest POS I've ever owned. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough and they really aren't that fast, can't be reliably modded to be much faster, and they are not even close to the size of a Tahoe/Denali. Plus the insurance was nose bleed expensive. If you like Denalis, you can get one pretty cheap now with a warranty, put a blower on it, and still be out the door for a lot less than a SC Range Rover of about the same age/miles and have a faster truck. Shoot for an '09 or later to get the bluetooth hook up if that matters to you. Only newer Range Rovers would give you any trouble.

IMO....if you want fast get a corvette. You don't buy a full size SUV for speed unless you're just looking for a challenge.

had a vetter, a 6 liter gto, a trail blazer ss,awd, a diesel tuned, now a charger rt. i miss riding up high but like good accreleration. i would never buy a range rover before 2010 they switchd to the 5 liter and has way more power and reliablity. need a good speed suv. might get a 2010 srt8 or infiniti fx50 then. thanks
