I recently purchased an 09' Yukon XL. The front speakers are working, but neither the rear door nor the rear pillar speakers work. I have found pieces of an aftermarket alarm on this truck, so I'm guessing there's a good chance they had aftermarket stereo equipment as well. This truck has a bench seat and no BOSE equipment. I have checked the back of the stereo and everything appears OK there. I'm guessing there's probably a harness or so that simply did not get re-connected from the previous owner. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I have found ALOT of speaker problems on these years of trucks are simply bad speakers. I had a Avalanche come in not long ago that only the pillar tweeters were working. It was just the door speakers themselves. Had another garage call me last week for advise with a truck with the same symptoms. Wound up being bad speakers.

Even though I have no rear audio controls, the (RSA) Rear Seat Audio was turned on, which turned off the rear seats (since the rear passenger would then gain access to those speakers. A friend fixed it and doesn't remember how he did it, but somehow reset the radio to turn off the RSA and now the speakers work just fine.

Similar issue w/my 07 hoe. I just replaced all my speakers:

Polk audio db6501 components in rear
Polk audio mm6501 components in front

You will be happy

FYI: the rear door and D pillar speakers are tied together in parallel. if neither one work, it might be a source issue. with that being said, the stock speakers are horrible indeed.

Eh, OEM speakers still aren't working. Are these speakers plug-n-play?

Hate to revive an old thread but instead of dupes, I have the same issue. 09 Tahoe and no sound from rear speakers. I have sound through the headphone jacks on the Rear unit, but nothing I have tried has produced sound from the doors. I have the non bose system. I do not want to dump money into just replacing speakers if something else could be the issue.

Do you have an aftermarket head unit?

Sideways,
The head unit is factory. I'll probably replace the speakers. That is unless I see some wire damage when I pop the door panels.
