Not sure the 2 speed case is really that much more popular from what I've seen. That said, for me the most important thing to do to get traction in the snow was to turn the traction control off. Otherwise the T/C cuts in with any wheel slip and dramatically cuts the power. I would not do this on the highway, but slogging around town in deep snow it makes a huge difference. 4 hi does lock up the transfer case, so you really don't want to leave it there on dry pavement.

I read somewhere once that it was 45 mph but it really depends on your gear ratio.

I think top speed is like 20 MPH at engine redline or something like that. So yeah, usually not needed unless you have to.

HPTuners is showing me 80MPH for a WOT 5-6 shift (6L80 3.08)
