Not sure the 2 speed case is really that much more popular from what I've seen. That said, for me the most important thing to do to get traction in the snow was to turn the traction control off. Otherwise the T/C cuts in with any wheel slip and dramatically cuts the power. I would not do this on the highway, but slogging around town in deep snow it makes a huge difference. 4 hi does lock up the transfer case, so you really don't want to leave it there on dry pavement.interesting.
