Via the search function, I've found several discussions about key fob replacement / reprogramming but nothing about reprogramming the actual replacement key. I've found several internet sites offering replacement keys and instructions (sent with key) on how to reprogram said key. I am new to GM products; my previous Ford products require two programmed keys to reprogram subsequent keys. Is it possible to reprogram a replacement key with only one programmed key? If so, does anyone know the correct procedure? The owners manual only states that one should see dealer for key replacement concerns. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

im pretty sure you need a dealer to program the actual key for you.

Speaking of keys. Does anyone know if the key fob from a escalade will work with ours. I like the square style of them

Nope BlackedOut it won't work. I already checked into that. Won't even work on Eskys with the key fob that Tahoe's have (the normal one).

Thanks everyone for your assistance. In talking to two vendors I've dealt with in the past, one stated that the "circle plus" keys require two programmed keys to reprogram additional keys; the other said only one was needed and provided the same instructions campkd6 provided ([1] insert programmed key and turn to "run" position for a couple of seconds, [2] turn to "off" position and remove programmed key, [3] insert new key and turn to "run" position for a couple of seconds, [4] turn to "off" position, new key should now be programmed). I am going to try the one key method and will update with results next week. Thanks again.

I just did mine two weeks ago because when I bought the Yukon it only came with 1 key and no fobs. Just wished I would have looked on here before I bought the regular fobs I would've got the two way fobs instead. Spent almost 400 on two keys and two remotes and programing.
