Is it possible to put longer stays on to get the door to go higher when open? Tall guy keep hitting the door.

I had the same thought when I was upgrading the struts for slightly stronger units. Unfortunately there is only .25-.5” of travel above the OEM strut length once removed. This might have been limited by the actuator assembly on the automatic lift. It wasn’t worth my effort to start modifying that setup. Might be a little more with manual doors but someone else will have to chime in as both of my Hoes have the auto lift gate.

It's commonly called a rear hatch, but no you can't without some form of advanced modification, wish it was easy.
If you go back to the previous generation gmt800/nbs the rear hatch goes up a bit more.
apparently engineers are short and work for willy wonka

Thanks guys,manual hatch looking at the hinges theirs a stop built in its only about 1/16th away from hitting at current height.
