Hey all,
I'm new to this forum. I am in the market for a 2011,12....Maaaby 13' Tahoe(but that is pushing it)... I do have a few questions to ask first. I am interested in The LTZ model 4WD. I don't plan on doing too much to the truck... No lift or anything like that. I do plan on a leveling kit Duratracs and nice wheels, Audio system and that's it. I'm not even sure what size tires would look nice under there..

I do like to Camp, fish, hunt, jet ski... so i will need to be able to pull all of the above. I am not one of those guys who will have the biggest camper in the world.. just for me and a few people.

My Question is has anyone ever heard of there being an LTZ offered in different versions? I thought i heard something about when this truck was new there were options(if you knew about them and the sales guy was on the ball)that dealt with the engine or towing capacity? possibly Limited slip or something like that? Was there ever an option for a bigger motor than the standard V8? I'm told that even the sales people did not even know about the different versions. I stopped in the Local dealership to ask and all they wanted to do was sell me a new truck.
I know this won't go over too big but what are the chances of finding a LTZ without a sunroof ?-not looking to save money... need roof space..

I know that i didn't explain myself that well.. but i think i got the point across. if anyone know what i am talking about or can steer me in the right direction that would helpful. I saw a few different forums . I'll post this in a few of them and decide on which is the most active.
Thanks
Shunto

I do know that the Avalanche did offer a 6.0L vs. the standard 5.3L V8. I'm not sure if it was an option for the Tahoe. But I can't see why it wouldn't be available.

Thanks for the replies... I'll have to check my settings. I didn't get Notification of replies.. just thought I'd stop back here. 6.0 and a 6.2? that must be nice!

I'm going to look into these thanks again!

they also offer the HD Heavy Duty Trailering equipment package (RPO Z82 i think?) option which i believe comes w/ aux trans cooler, trailer brake controller, and increased tow rating
someone may correct or clarify

i believe all tahoes/yukons have the rear locking differential (RPO Code = G80)

CJWEB,
I believe that might have been what I was after. I knew it was something like that. I was just not able to explain myself properly. I thought finding something like this might be a better move that installing an after market Transmission cooler and brake controller. The Increased Tow Rating is icing on the cake.

I'll have to continue to look around and see what I can find. if I shop local NY. I'll most likely get what everyone has. I might have to expand my search to other areas....

I see an awful lot of 2WD units..... I'm after a 4wd one.

thanks.
