Hey guy's, just looking to get as much advice as possible. I have a 2011 Chevy Tahoe Z71 which I had lowered a while back. Love the work, matter of fact Tony did the work and I love it. Only problem is I'm giving it to my little brother and he lives in Lake Tahoe and I'm not sure how the tires will hold up. I have 22 in rims on 305/40R Copper Zeon tires. Would you recommend spending a grip on cash to find stock parts from Chevy and put it back to stock and get new tires and rims, or are there any other tires that would look good on 22's and still be descent in snow. Any advice is always appreciated.

I'm looking for anything that will look good on a lowered Tahoe, and be good in the snow. He works at Squaw Valley and needs to be able to use the 4x4, not that he can't use it now, but I just don't see those tires providing for much traction. He won't be off roading in it or taking it through knarly snow patches, just everyday driving in snow, rain, stuff like that?

Blizzak DM-V1 is by far the best snow tire they make. If where he's at has a LOT of snow then definitely get those for max traction on snow.

What kind of tires do you have on you Avalanche? Not sure the Blizzak would look good with the Elite Rade rims currently on. Looks like I may be shit out of luck.

Yea Blizzak's didn't have "the looks" in mind when they were making that tire. Purely engineered the best tire for traction on snow and that's it.

Honestly if he has 4x4 he should be fine as long as he stays in 4x4 when in snow/rain. My escalade is AWD so I put on some Nitto NT420S tires bc it's the sickest tread pattern i've ever seen on a road tire. My avalanche has 33x12.50R22 Toyo Open Country M/T's on a 22x9 with +31 offset rim. Here are some pics:

At tires have better ride and traction in anything but mud than the mt tires. Mt tires look cool at a major mpg cost as they weight nearly 15 pounds more per tire. When comparing to steet tires the differential has got to be pushing 25 to 30 pounds per corner!

It'll knock the wind out of accelration, braking, wear and tear, mpg. Toyo mts are pretty darn quiet though. Ran them on my Lexus SUV. The best mt tires on the market. Just know what you're getting into.

I had LTZ 20's + 305/50/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers on my avalanche beforehand and got 14.8 mpg. I've now had the Toyo Open Country MT's for a few months with rep ck375 22's and my mpg is....... still 14.8 -- absolutely 0 change in mpg... just food for thought. I thought i'd lose major mpg's but I didn't.

I'll have to look into those, looks nice on your ride. I wonder if those would fit on my 22's?

Thanks bro. They might fit your 22's BUT lowered it'll be rubbing pretty badly. I have a 2.5"/1.5" leveling kit on my avalanche and still had to trim the wheel well liners and take off the factory mud flaps since it was rubbing on those too. Depending on your offset your rims has, it could be better or worse. A positive offset would make it a lot easier for you to fit. My rims have a +31 offset which is a good thing as far as rubbing is concerned.
