ive used a 90 degree pick before to release it. and then a straight pick to get the screen out to clean. all with the intake in place.

Any special instructions? I tried to get back there but I can barely touch the connector with my finger tip.

Would you get any additional clearance by removing the transmission mount and raising the rear/tailshaft of the transmission?

no, not really any special instructions. you just gotta cram your hand back there, then use the right combination of extensions so you can actually move the ratchet
