2012 HDD Nav install, DVD remote inop *UPDATE*

I installed the new 2012 HDD Nav/DVD unit in my wife's 2011 Tahoe, everything works great except for the DVD remote, any ideas ?

I have the same problem, I even bought a new remote and still nothing. I relegated myself to using the radio buttons.

I bought the new style black and gray version, still no worky. Anyone have a wiring diagram for that system ?

Sorry. I thought for sure that was going to the issue here. The only thing I could think of that might be different is the location/wiring of the IR repeaters. You do have the rear screen down while using the remote control correct? I know in my rig the IR sensors are in the base of the screen in the rear.

No worries, it was worth a shot. Rear screen is down.

Ok, I finally figured out the problem. That's the good news. The Gray 16 pin to Black 20 pin conversion harness is wired incorrectly. The bad news is you'll have to remove all the components to gain access to the conversion harness to remove and fix it. All you have to do is repin the Black 20 pin connector to reflect the correct wiring configuration. I just did this and the remote function now works with the new all black remote unit, I couldn't get the original black/gray remote to work but it may be the batteries are dead. Either way I have remote control of the DVD functions. I have attached the connector pinouts for the respective DVD connectors to help those who want to tackle the job.....Your welcome.
