Hello, I drive a 2013 Chevy Tahoe and I’ve been having problems fueling up. Everytime I try to pump gas the gas pump handle keeps shutting/clicking off! I can’t even get a a gallon out without having to hold the handle slowly and that still makes it shut off. It didn’t do this before! Any tips? Should I take it to a mechanic or is it easy DIY? Also there is no CEL! The truck has a bout 190k miles.

Check your vapor canister purge valve solenoid, if you find carbon pellets there go ahead and change the entire evap system at the same time: both solenoids and the vapor canister. When doing so you should blow out all the fuel lines with compressed air and if possible wash the gas tank.

In the long run you may be saving yourself damage to the fuel pump, injectors and/or engine.

One of the causes of this issue (carbon pellets migration) is repeatedly trying to squeeze more gas into the tank, after the gas station pump initially triggers to the off position.
