Worked! I was able to pump a full $10 without it clicking in who know how long.Push a little air through the vent valve and make sure the air can get out through the filter media at the end of the hose. If that's clear, then once the vent valve is put back in place it should be able to suck in air when the engine is running and it's commanded open.
You may want to apply 12v to the vent valve to make sure it's closed when voltage is applied. If it stays open with 12v applied it's defective.
