2013 Tahoe internet dash trim question ..

Helo all.. see pics below...

You can see the black marks (it's not marker or pen it's the color coming off) is there a fix or anything for this? Any idea how to restore the color? Does it have to be replaced.

Paint maybe the only way.. or dash wrap..?

I thought my dash was color plastic all the way through.. just checked my cracks and it's black inside..

The last generation Tahoe I had did this all over the top of the dash - aside from painting or using a dash cover, pretty sure the options are ignore or replace it. I have a cover on the current SSV now to keep my OCD demons at bay!

paint it or replace entire dash.
all dash are base black underneath and any other color is a paint from the factory.
there is paint you can get that will match the factory paint, most bodyshop repair/paint supply stores carry it.
choosing the exact right color can be tricky

Many years ago I took an automotive restoration class for a week so take this with a grain of salt. Once you apply the paint to the interior panel it will remove the texture and become flat. You will need to retexture the spots you paint. I recall seeing some interior paint kits that come with a dozen texture swatches. I’m sure YouTube can help with this type of repair.

You'll have to re-grain the dash only if you do a repair. If you just respray with paint, and don't go heavy with the coats you'll be fine. Also make sure you buy the correct paint for your application and make sure to follow the instructions exactly, or it may peel.

I have repainted some and didn't have this issue and also didn't put a inch of paint on it ether though..... doesn't take much to cover a worn spot but a couple spritz
