OK the bad luck saga continues on this Nav radio swap. I have had the radio working fine with the second conversion harness for several weeks now but I still have not been able to get the backup camera to work. I picked up another identical part number Nav radio that I was told was unlocked and I stuck it in this morning. It said locked on the screen so I took it back out and put my Nav radio back in. Now I have no FM reception? I triple checked the antenna to make sure it was plugged in and still tight at the connection but no FM radio. The CD player works and plays a CD and the NAV works and the clock works but there is no radio reception? Any suggestions on what the heck I did now to mess this up?????

Just another saga on this quest for upgrades. I purchased a complete second Nav Radio with the exact same part number that was said to be unlocked for $255 out of a 2013 Yukon. I received it and took my Nav radio out and plugged in the second radio. It said LOCKED on the screen so I took it back out and put my first Nav radio back in. When I did that the Radio no longer has a signal and the radio part quit working. I checked the antenna from the back of the radio and it did not help. I unplugged the antenna adapter to the original antenna wire and that did not help. I took them both apart a second time and checked for bent pins or anything of the sort and found nothing yet the radio still had no reception. The Nav works, the CD player works, the DVD player works, the Clock works, the GPS works but no radio in either AM or FM? I got frustrated thinking that possibly this second radio had shorted something out when I put it in so I took out the first Nav radio and put my stock original radio back in. Everything worked perfect but it was all laying on the console. I turned it off and put it back in the dash and then turned it back on and nothing! I was livid at this point but I pulled it back out and when I grabbed it to pull it out it turned on? I pulled it out and reached in and pushed and pulled on the wiring and it went on and off. I then disconnected the wiring to the amp for the Nav radio and pulled and pushed on the wires and it never turned off again. Possibly I have a wiring issue with the AMP that has been causing these issues all along????? I have now driven the truck for three days with the stock radio and nothing else hooked up and it works perfectly.

Given all that I just told you what would you do next? Would you send the second radio to Matt and get it programmed for the Tahoe or would you see about having the first Nav radio tested and or repaired and would you be like me and be ready to give up at this point? I am frustrated and need a calm head to help me figure this out rationally so I hope you can help me? PLEASE!

You need to verify the integrity of the wiring in your truck first. Then verify that at least on of those Nav Radios is fully functional. If you send both, maybe they'll fix one and keep the other for payment. While they are doing that, make sure your truck's wiring is in good form. Start around the amp. You're going to have all kinds of BCM codes, clear them out too.

I have had the factory wiring inspected and nothing was found. The tech at the dealership said nothing had been cut and when he scanned the truck there were no codes so I am assuming it would have to be either the added on amp, the nav radio or the new wiring. Where can I send the radios to confirm they are good? Most places I looked into through the dealership does not repair them and only exchanges them for a hefty $900 my cost?

Every Battery Cable on my truck was replaced after I got it so I am sure it is not a bad cable.

Well, you mentioned pulling on the wiring and it was going in and out, I'd start there. I'd google around for a radio repair shop. Way back when there was a shop in Fort Lauderdale that rebuilt the Delco radio for my Buick and put a new amp in it and other things, did great work.

Yes it was the wiring to the add on amp that seemed to cause the issue. After I unplugged the amp wiring and plugged the radio back in I pulled and pushed on the wiring and nothing happened so my assumption is that the amp wiring is suspect.

Back in the day many shops repaired radios. Nowadays it seems all they want to so is either sell you a new radio or exchange it. I am having little luck finding someone who will repair what I already have without charging over $300 just to look at it!

I seen a few just now, don't know what they charge. I also remember one that sold the good bulbs that have to be soldered on to the radio and ac controls and such for mid 2000s GM cars, I think that one also specialized in Corvette radios, my memory fails me.
