you know what though, i had a 02 escalade before my hummer and when i saw the spy photos of the 07 tahoe and escalade, i wasnt a fan of them. maybe it was the quality of the picture, but i just didnt like it. but it obviously grew on me. maybe this next one will.... gm wouldnt really ruin the lineup. it means alot to them. their not that dumb.

I'ts hard to tell a lot from spy photos due to that "poncho" they put on them. you also can't tell much from prototypes either because they are mainly "dressed up" for auto shows but the production model rarely looks like the prototype model.

true. but you can tell alot about the direction from the concepts. and if you know alot about the company, you know what kinds of changes they are going to make. we already know they want to achieve better mpg. this means DI motors and less weight. to get rid of weight, they really have to shrink the overall size of the car/truck. theres not alot that they can take away from the current one.

Yeah, I guess time will tell.

With the gov't regs on MPG. Are they mandating that a company's lineup meet and overall avg MPG rating or that each vehicle must meet or exceed and specific MPG?

its the CAFE regulations. i think its determined on a average mpg of all vehicles, but i dont know if theres a certain percentage that each vehicle within the brand has to achieve. but i know having the volt reallly helps out the ZR1 and suburban and tahoe. i think its something like an average of 35mpg for 2014 but by 2016 or so, they have to have like 40mpg average. its really weird. but certain manufacturers that sell less than so many vehicles are excluded from the cafe rules. this is why Dodge dropped RAM and VIPER. they are their own companies now. i think SRT brand is this way too. just a loophole in the system kinda.

Why not join the caddy forums if you want to know about them? Those guys know alot more about the new Cadillacs then a bunch of Chevy/GMC guys. Might get some better answers over there.

Dodge dropped the Viper because federal regulations requires all vehicles after 2011 to have mandatory traction control. Dodge pulled the viper while they reconfigured the drivetrain to meet federal requirements, thus why they are releasing the 2013 Viper with traction control. :)

It's always good for discussion, though, no? :hands: I enjoy talking caddies just as much as Chevy/GMC and there are plenty of Caddy folks on here.

because i currently have a tahoe :) and thigns regarding escalade transfer down to the tahoe and yukon.same reason i follw the ATS cadillac so much... its on the alpha platform that the 6th gen camaro will be on. things tend to trickle over so you can see the future of the chevy brand through cadillacs

and the reason they are not under DODGE name brand any more is because it will hurt their CAFE average. and the viper falls under the amount of vehilces sold to get effected by it.

Of course it is great for discussion, but would have more concrete answers from the Cadillac forums. Maybe more receptive to the OP over there as well since they haven't been burdened with these threads in the past.

If I had an Escalade and wanted to know about Tahoes, I would come to a Tahoe forum, and vice versa.

You know exactly where I am going with this. It gets tiring seeing the same exact thread. No introduction, nothing to offer the site, but my first post is "escalade premium bumpers, has anyone done this mod, look what I found on ebay, and 2014 blah blah blah" gets old.

Anyhow, back to washing my hair.

Check out the OP's first thread on his Hoe. It's dropped on 22's and looks really nice but I get what your saying :High 5:
