My speedometer reads 3% under. My GPS unit is dead accurate. Truck is at the dealer now getting the cluster replaced. 100 MPH, it reads 97 !!

Really? I would think there's a general "give" in a couple miles either way... At "normal" speeds say where the speed limit it 55, you're talking about maybe being 1-2 mph off.

Not a big deal IMO...

There is absolutely no reason in this day & age an analog speedometer should not be 100% accurate.

So 275/55/20?? Are those the original wheels/tire size that came with the truck? Or did you buy them from someone?

The reason I'm asking is because the 265/65/17 tires/wheels that came on some of our trucks is a different diameter than the 275/55/20....approximately 4% off difference.

Original wheels, and the tires I just put on, are exact duplicates of factory OEM.

so, when your tires are half warn, and it reads 3% too fast, are you going back to the dealer for a new cluster?

3% is pretty good. They actually usually read a little fast as a margin of error

Mine is reading under 3%. The GM tolerance is 5% according to the dealer, but I can't get it in writing from a GM spec sheet. Only the word of the service manager.
