My jack handle tool kit was missing for my 2014 Tahoe. I got one from a brand new Chevy 2500. It seems too big on the end. Can someone take a picture of the end of theirs please with a ruler? I didn’t want to grind mine down if it wasn’t necessary.

I'm not in front of my truck right now but one thing pops into my head. Are the lug heads the same size on the 2500 as the 1500?

your doing it wrong
female square end goes in the tube, connect 2 sections together, insert female end first, using your "feelers" (fingers) turn the rod until you "feel" it insert into the male "square" end of the spare lock, then attach your lug tool onto the male end protruding out of the hole by depressing the ballbearing until the lug tool is on the rod, then turn the lug tool (counterclockwise) to drop the spare.
all shown in the owners-manual
*however as already mentioned you might want to check that the lug fits otherwise carry a seperate wrench for the lugs, i believe my oem ones are 22mm

Lol, I can’t believe I was doing that. I was in a hurry. Thanks much! I guess I was thinking it was a slot inside the tube. Similar to my old S-10.
