Update: Transmission is done. 1st to 2nd slip, REALLY hard shift park to reverse, and apparently now Neutral is acting as a reverse gear. Dealer said $5000 for replacement but willing to knock some off that as we are good customers there. I could feel the P to R hard shift before but the slip is new, and I had no clue about the N issue. My guess is the old fluid may have been holding it together and a flush knocked something loose. But they said the old fluid was clean when it came out.

Now to decide whether replace it or sell it as is. Love the truck and had no intentions of making a change. But, the car market is super inflated where I am now too. Either route sounds expensive. Pick my poison i guess.

I’m happy to hear you got 175k on the trans. Would be thrilled if I got that from mine.

I had unit replaced by dealer at 14k. 94k on truck now (80k on new trans). Had dealer change filter and fluid at 45k, so it’s time for another service.

I’m going to do a change in the next week on my own - new filter and fluid.

Did you find out how much “some” was?

I would also ask if the transmission replacement includes the correct amount of transmission fluid. As in every quart that the manufacturer recommends.

Did not end up replacing it. Sold the truck as is. So no clue what the actual cost would have been.

Now in a 2018 Yukon Denali with the 10 speed. Only 64k miles on it. Was my mom's before mine. Will need to update my profile pic now..
