2015 Tahoe LT - lift gate button (interior/exterior) not working

My 2015 Tahoe LT rear hatch interior/exterior buttons stopped working. The exterior rear glass button does work and both function from the key fob. I had a spare overhead console so I swapped the interior switch (no luck). I noticed the interior switch is not lighting up (little indicator light on edge of knob).

Anyone have a guess as to why the rear hatch won't release/open (power) from either switch but will from the fob?

Welp, it started working on its own. Must be an electrical gremlin?
