Just curious if you ordered the CANBUS adapter with the kit? I'm in the middle of installing the extreme kit... Installed the driver side this morning, and going to finish the passenger side this weekend.

I did find out that you have to switch the polarity on the CANBUS adapter for them to work.

Yep, they worked for a couple of months and then died.

The canbus kit is a must. Got it free with my kit from kbcarstuff with the code I posted before. You will have nothing but issues with any kit from any site if you do not install it.

I finished up the Xenon Depot/KB Car Stuff Extreme Kit yesterday, and all is working well. I used both the relay and the CANBUS adapter.

One thing i have noticed, is that when the headlights are firing up, the passenger side bulb has a very minor flicker, that lasts about a second while the bulb is igniting, then everything warms up and operates normal. I've read that this can be a normal occurence during warmup, but i'll be keeping an eye on it.

During the installation I tested the kit both with and without the CANBUS adapter, and while it worked without it, i've heard issues are likely to pop up and light flicker can occur... so i left it in.

Interesting...The majority of their reviews online are positive, and people tend to have more longevity out of their kits...Did they send you replacement parts for free, and was it the ballast that ended up failing?

I had to post shopping for replacements, $20, the first time was the bulb. I suspect this time its the ballast but I just pulled them out for the winter and went back to halogen. I'll get a replacement in the spring. I didn't want to get stuck having a headlight out in the Buffalo winter.

It sucks because they looked so much better and provided a tin more visibility. For a kit that cost $160 shipped, I expected to have zero issues. Especially when the ddm tuning kits I usually buy are only $50. I went of of recommendations from the forum, which I regret now. I should if stuck with what I knew. I'm not putting down kbcarstuff and I'm not recommending ddm tuning, I'm just speaking from my personal experience. As always YMMV when it comes to dealing with retro kits.

Just install the TRS Silverado Spec kit and the relays and capacitor with no canbus. Working perfectly.

On my Silverado I had the same install for 3 years with no issues and no Canbus installed. Using DDM HID's. Only relay's and capacitors. Think I replaced one bulb even with the DRL running them all the time. I did put dielectric grease in / on every fitting and never had an issue. Hoping the same with the TRS kit

I must have had a bad silverado spec kit. Installed on 15 Yukon and passenger side wouldn't come on even though all parts tested good on drivers side. Tried kit on 10 Tahoe and did the same exact thing. Took off the kit off the Tahoe and put on an older TRS kit that came with my retrofit projectors from Vision AutoWorks and grounded in same exact spots so I know it isn't the vehicle or the grounding wires...

So, 15 degrees this morning and no headlights... capacitor went out. Had a spare from another kit, installed it and got to work. Never had a failure in less than 48 hours and I'll be damned if I'll pay for shipping for a replacement. Put a dispute in with Paypal. We shall see how that goes. SH*t happens and as long as they make good on it than I really have no issues with the kit otherwise. Well built (so it seems). More to come but my wife was not a happy camper having to get her small hands in were things were mounted this morning.
