Love it, no issues with the canbus and HD relay set up. I had one small snafu but it was my fault because I disconnected the power when I was installing my cold air intake

I'm willing to pull the trigger on some HID's, but I want to make sure I get any and all parts in 1 shot

Could you guys post up the part #'s and/or a direct link?

high beams

Did anyone put in the high beams (HID) while they did the low beams?

How is the high beam pattern ?

Did you use the canbus and the relay (with the low beams)? (confused from earlier postings on this)

Thanks,
Steve

I didn't do high beams because it takes a bit for the HIDS to warm up. I'm thinking I may out LEDS however

The only way HIDs work well for highbeams is with a bi xenon setup (single bulb for high and low). And that isn't plug and play on these trucks.

Led are going to be very weak output wise. You really need purpose built housings for LED to be bright enough for highbeams. I went with high output halogens from the retrofit source for highbeams and I am happy.

I installed the relay harness a few weeks ago and it was pretty easy. I now have the Canbus plugged into the factory headlight plugs at both headlights then one Canbus (drivers side) is connected to the on off signal on the relay harness (the passenger Canbus is not connected to anything).

The power for the relay is taken from the power block at the battery.

There is a link in the 1st post of this thread. Get the relay harness and add Canbus connectors for H11 bulbs.

Update from The RetroFit Source

I was getting ready to order from TRS and Charlie (chat rep) stated to use the MOPAR Low beam kit. (it has a capacitor in line that eliminates the flicker).

I'm ordering now....

I just purchased a 2015 Tahoe LT and was curious if it is easy to upgrade the projector headlights for HID's? Do I need the conversion kit? I have noticed that the factory headlights are garbage and do not put off enough light on the roadway. Which brand would work best? Thanks all for your help!!

If you read this thread you will see what I have installed in my Yukon. Should be a similar process in your LT.

I would recommend the kits from TheRetrofitSource.com. Kits from DDM tuning will also get the job done for less money. But are not as high quality.

The only other tip would be to get a relay harness with the kit as opposed to trying to run it directly off the stock headlight cables.

installed mopar low beam kit

Ok, i put in the low beam kit. The kit isn't long enough to put the relays in a good place (I will see if they have extensions).

I forgot to put the MAF sensor back on when starting the vehicle...the check engine light is now on. I am assuming that was the reason.

I put the 12v wire to the connector bus on top of the battery.

(could either of these make the CEL come on?) Check engine light

Now, I never checked this before, but when you turn on the high beams, do the low beams shut off? (low beams stay on when I turn on the high beams now).

Any ideas?

Thanks,
