I wanted to provide an overview of the MPG I experienced on a road trip I completed in my 2015i Yukon Denali XL. I do not concern myself with MPG nor consider it a decision factor in my purchasing decisions. I have owned several 6.2L V8s in different vehicle platforms but was pretty impressed after checking the DIC a couple times during the journey because I was pushing it hard.
Four occupants, luggage for 4, a large cooler, and two full sets of golf clubs...the truck was loaded front to back. I ticked off ~3500 miles round trip. Mostly interstate, but while gone for three weeks at the destination it was mixed mostly city.
Average MPH: 76 (led foot and cruise was set well over 80MPH majority of the time).
Average MPG: 19.1
Pretty impressive from a V8, 4x4, body on frame SUV. From a comparison standpoint my 2015D Yukon Denali with the 6SPD did the same trip about a year ago and only did 17 MPG.
Long live the V8!
