Give it time! I'm just not a heavy modder... I swapped out the interior lights of the old with some LEDs but the new one has those already.

Have you tried yet? My wife has been entering destinations on our GPS while I'm driving down the road and we haven't done any upgrades to it. The video does not show up, though, at least that we know of (still haven't really figured the dang thing out yet).

The onstar app allows you to search bing maps and send destination to the turn by turn onstar or navigation system on the dash. Works very well. I like it because I can put something like Best buy davenport and it pops up. Send to truck.

Yes, if you load the OnStar app onto your smartphone there is a tab for navigation. There you'll see a Bing map and can search for a location. Once you've found the location, tap on it and it will bring up a menu that allows you to send the destination to the car. It works pretty well.
As far as getting off-topic, this is the general forum, as far as I'm concerned anything goes.
