To me the Tahoe’s with the stationary running board look better and more aggressive. I prefer the styling of it over the retractable ones. I don’t really care about clearance or any of that. Strictly highway driven. How big a job is it to remove the retractable steps and put in OEM stationary ones? Cost?
You actually can control them with this switch (bottom left just above the adjustable pedal button).
I believe it can be done. I’ve complete all the wiring. I’m looking for a good set of power assist steps now. There’s 3 circuits that come from the x185 body to chassis harness connector along with a power circuit from the under hood fuse block. The other wires connect between the module and the two steps. For the trucks, the module doesn’t have to be programmed. I’m thinking the suvs don’t either.
