2017 Yukon Denali Rough Ride

I wanted to post my issue and see if anyone can provide some feedback. My 2017 Yukon Denali ride has been rough for the last few months. Dealer told me the rest shocks were locked up. So I got my mechanic to replace the shocks with OEM and the ride only feels slightly better. The whole ride just feels stiff to me but cant pinpoint what tire its coming from, thought once in while it feels normal. It's really hard to tell honestly. I pulled the air hose from the rear shocks and I hear the air pressure releasing. When starting the car, I hear the compressor come un for a few seconds. So I think that is good. I visually checked the ride height sensors and the back 2 linkage seem good. The front passenger linkage has some left/right movement but up/down seems ok, not sure if that is OK or not. Bouncing the front does seem to have a few bounces where the rear come to a rest after one dip. I did do a relearn and it did not seem to make a difference. I think I am down to replacing the front struts and the one ride height sensor. The front struts are about 3-4 years old. Can anyone think of anything else that might be causing my issue?

When was the last time you changed tires? Do you know how to read the date code on a tire?
From experience the lower profile tires on cars can DRASTICALLY change the ride quality when they age out. The tread might be good but the compound itself can become super super hard and provide a terrible ride. Most dealerships will not check date codes if you come in saying you have a suspension concern.

Most dealerships will not check date codes if you come in saying you have a suspension concern.
The tires were put on 2 years ago. Brand new Michelin tires from Costco. Should not be overly old stock. They are the 22's so I did expect it to have a little rough ride due to them but what I have seems excessive.

Your front struts are probably shot. I'm on set number 2 on my 2017 Denali. First went at 80k, second at 152k. Now I have the lifetime GM warranty so they will be free at 225k.

It rode like shit when the RF puked all the oil out. If it bounces even more than 1 time from a manual persuasion, that isn't correct. They should settle out very quickly.

Also, the 22 inch wheels are strut killers. I'm ditching mine for 18 or 20 when summer is done.

I think so too. Dealer did replace both front ones under CPO warranty 3-4 years ago. I wonder if they get the lifetime warranty as well.

Ok it does sound more like suspension issues. Hmm…

I've got an '18 Tahoe with Magride that I've been chasing the cause of rough ride for about a year now. I've replaced all struts and air ride done the relearn, checked error codes. Still rides like a Ford Model A. I can't figure it out for the life of me. Apparently there's a body roll computer, steering input and the magride sensors you talked about that all contribute to the ride quality. I'm about to start chasing the rabbit.
It's not tires or lift or any other BS like that. The car drove for 5 years on the same wheels and tires before this issue. And it's only got 60k miles on it.
I will report back if I find something that fixes it!

Same here. Front doesn't absorb small bumps very well. Relearn ect, still does it. Puzzling.

Mine has done the same twice, always get a service suspension system light soon after, warranty replaced the shocks twice

Newbie here. Stumbled on this forum while searching this topic online and appreciate the input on here. I have a '16 Yukon XL Denali with 22's and only 48K miles. I've had a the front shocks replaced around 35K and I guess it was fine afterwards but now rides like a lumber wagon. The tires were replaced at 38K with a Michelin LTX with Extra Load capacity. The tire dealer is adamant that it shouldn't of changed the ride that much so I'm guessing it's the MRC. I do tow around 3.5K to 4.5K on occasion but that shouldn't make a difference. I'm considering taking it to a different dealer soon as it's getting unbearable. will be following this thread.
