Both vehicles are stock. Are the exhaust systems both stock? Does either vehicle have any mods?

Yes - Both are six speed transmissions.Same transmissions???
Cleaning the MAF never hurts. Especially if the previous owner used an oiled air filter like a K&N or something. A contaminated MAF sensor can make an automobile perform like crap.
They specifically sell CRC MAF cleaner just about anywhere. It will not leave a residue behind when it dries unlike brake cleaner or or carb cleaner.
Cleaned the MAF sensor and looked at the throttle body and it was "clean" a small amount of discoloration, but nothing grungy.
Didn't seem to help.
It's going to cost you some $$, but it may prove enlightening if you took both to a shop with a dyno and compared the dyno results against each other. You may see that the ECM's are tuned differently (and maybe be able to improve both with some tweaking).Hi All
Question for those out there who know more than I ...
Backstory:
I have both of the above mentioned vehicles, both are equipped with 5.3L engine, the Yukon is a SLT and the Tahoe is an LS.
My question, shouldn't both of these vehicles react the same, power wise while driving? I'm experiencing a huge difference in overall driving in the throttle response as well as AFM and the shifting up through the gears.
The Yukon's throttle response is so much better and I can never tell if the AFM is on or off, and the shifting is flawless, if feels great. The Tahoe has terrible throttle response, it seems to shutter while progressing through the gears and the RPMs are all over the place while driving in town. Highway driving is flawless.
The Yukon has just shy of 36K on the clock
The Tahoe has just turned 23K on the clock
Trans fluid looks good in the Tahoe and there are no strange sounds coming from the vehicle.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Scott
Mine has the max tow package with 3.42 gears and it felt sluggish as well. Got it tuned. Wow what difference. No, I don't think it would. The throttle response should be the same, but with 3.42 gears vs. 3.08 the Tahoe should actually feel "peppier" in regards to the acceleration rate.
Agree, but I wonder if ECM differences would show up on a dyno. Unless I'm reading it wrong, max power output would be the same, just a different amount of throttle engagement to get there. It's going to cost you some $$, but it may prove enlightening if you took both to a shop with a dyno and compared the dyno results against each other. You may see that the ECM's are tuned differently (and maybe be able to improve both with some tweaking).
Are you going for a custom tune?Well I took the Tahoe to the dealer and head them run a diagnostics test for throttle response, shifting, fuelling, and AFM, to my surprise, everything is operating properly, imagine that.
I just ordered the intune3, I guess we will see what sort of crap I can get into .....
