Have you really pulled on it with the handle. It’s heavy as crap.

it opens when you grab the handle and hit the release switch with your finger. but then stop. it will flex a few inches. but you can also slam it close.

Sounds like something is jammed or caught up between

Well I was able to open the door enough to reach the retaining clips and then I pry the actuators off the mounting pins. Then I was able to open the door by hand. Now I just need to replace the actuator.

Does anyone know how to tear the lift actuator apart. I'm a Psycho and I would like to know what failed. I've look around online. but not seeing any disassembly. I don't want the thing exploding in my face if there some kind of springed jack screw.

Google search "How to replace liftgate actuator on 2015 chevy tahoe". It pulled up a you tube showing how to do the repair. Suburban is the same. Good luck.

Well I order a liftgate actuator. I got it off ebay for $117. it may have took 45 seconds to pop the new in place and connect the connector. and seems to work ok. I have a dealer supply warehouse here in OKC. I checked with them on the part. and I believe he said that wanted $285 for the lift actuator. but they were on back order and they didn't have an ETA on when they would be available. so looks like the ebay fix is a good choice according the reviews I found on ebay. I'm usually leary of ebay parts. but this seems to be ok according to other reviewers.
